Tomaž Premzl
Slovenian lighting designer Tomaž Premzl holds a degree in Multimedia Production from the Academia Maribor. Since 1996, he has been appointed Lighting Master and Designer at the Slovene National Theatre in Maribor. He has contributed lighting designs to many concert appearances and productions of contemporary and classical ballets at this theatre, including Swan Lake (chor. by Viktor Litvinov), Terror (chor. by Marko Urbanek), Sladko Suite (chor. by Darrel Toulon), Paquita (chor. by Irina Ivanova), Nychtemeron (chor. by Staša Zurovac), Home (chor. by Gaj Žmavc), The Golden Age (chor. by Zoran Marković), Hommage à Stravinsky, La Sacre du printemps, Faun, Stabat Mater, Peer Gynt, Carmina Burana (chor. by Edward Clug) and Nanine pesmi (chor. by Valentina Turcu).
As part of the creative team around choreographer Edward Clug, he has worked at the world’s major dance venues, including the Vienna State Opera (Austria), Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival (USA), The Stars of the White Nights Festival at the Mariinsky Theatre, Dance Open Festival at the Alexandrinsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg and the Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre (Russia), Festival of Firsts in Pittsburgh (USA), Singapore International Festival of Arts (SIFA), Biarritz Festival (France), O Boticário na Dança in Curitiba (Brazil), Tel Aviv International Dance Festival at the New Israeli Opera (Israel), Sintra Festival (Portugal), Festival Des Arts de Saint-Sauveur (Canada), Seoul International Dance Festival (South Korea), Teatro Piccolo and Teatro alla Scala in Milan (Italy), Latvian National Opera, and toured the Netherlands, Italy, the USA and the countries of ex-Yugoslavia.
