Yuliya Brauer

Born in Siberia, Russia, Yuliya Brauer graduated from the Riga Choreography High School in 2011. In 2011, she received Ballet Chairman Award in the Korea International Ballet Competition and a scholarship for studies at The Washington School of Ballet. The following year she studied at the Boston Ballet School. In 2013, she joined the Latvian National Ballet Company. Her repertoire includes Odetta/Odile in Piotr Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, Maria in Piotr Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker, Juliet in Sergei Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet, Nikya in Alois Minkus’ La Bayadère, Giselle in Adolphe Adam’s Giselle, Patricia in Pavel Akimkin’s Three Comrades, a.o.

Yulia Brauer has also performed the role of Juliet in the Slovenian National Ballet in Maribor (Radio and Juliet, choreography by Edward Clug) and the role of Odetta/Odile in Cairo National Ballet in Egypt. With the Latvian National Ballet Company, she has performed on tour in Italy, Greece, Spain, Finland, and Belarus.

Yulia Brauer was awarded the Latvian National Opera Foundation Award (2018) and the Latvian Dance Award (2019) as the Best Female Ballet Soloist. In 2020, Yulia Brauer was awarded with Helena Tangijeva-Birzniece prize.
