Klaipėda State Music Theatre Grand Opening Gala Concert
The programme of the grand opening gala will feature excerpts from the works by Richard Strauss, Gioacchino Rossini, Richard Wagner, Giuseppe Verdi, Umberto Giordano, Charles Gounod, Antonín Dvořák, Giedrius Kuprevičius, Audronė Žigaitytė, Eduardas Balsys, Vladimiras Konstantinovas, George Gershwin, Jerry Bock, and Carl Orff.
The guest soloists will appear alongside the KSMT soloists, symphony orchestra and mixed choir conducted by as much as five different conductors. They will include Chief Conductor of the KSMT Symphony Orchestra, Tomas Ambrozaitis, Conductor Emeritus of the KSMT, Stanislavas Domarkas, Chief Choirmaster of the KSMT Choir, Vladimiras Konstantinovas, conductor of the first premiere at the newly opened Klaipėda State Music Theatre in 1988, opera Mažvydas by Audronė Žigaitytė, Gintaras Rinkevičius, and music director of one of the KSMT’s most recent productions, a videographic performance after Carl Orff’s cantata Carmina Burana, Robertas Šervenikas. The programme will also feature an appearance of the KSMT Ballet Company.
