The Spirit of History
Symphonic Music Concert “The Spirit of History”
Dedicated to the 35th anniversary of January 13 and Klaipėda Region Day, this concert invites you to experience music as a form of memory and respect. It’s an evening to remember, to listen, and to share a moment with history that shapes our present.
Under the baton of conductor Tomas Ambrozaitis, the program blends the roots of Lithuanian music with the traditions of European classics. The concert also features the Klaipėda Choir “Aukuras”, whose voices bring a sense of unity, solemnity, and spiritual depth. Through works from different eras, the evening opens a space for quiet reflection, reverence, and contemplation.
Programme:
- Bronius Kutavičius – “Dzūkian Variations”
Inspired by Lithuanian folklore and the sounds of the Dzūkija region, this piece reflects nature’s rhythms, an archaic musical language, and a living connection to cultural tradition. A serene work that encourages focus and inner calm. - Johannes Brahms – “A German Requiem”
One of the most significant works of the Romantic era, written not for mourning but for consolation. Brahms’ Requiem speaks of hope, compassion, and inner strength. The combined voices of choir and orchestra create a profound sense of peace and reconciliation.
The concert “The Spirit of History” invites you to experience music as a shared journey—a moment where memory, respect, and quiet reflection merge into one.
