Music from Eimuntas Nekrošius’ Performances

What was once intimate, subtle, barely perceptible—what could change with each performance—has now transformed into a spectacle of music and visuals. All sounds traveled straight to the heavens—into open space… The music of Nekrošius’ performances has become a new transcendent phenomenon.
– Theatre critic Daiva Šabasevičienė

After two memorable summer premieres that received exceptional attention from the cultural, artistic, and theatrical communities, the theatrical concert “Music from Eimuntas Nekrošius’ Performances” returns to stages and halls.

The music from Eimuntas Nekrošius’ legendary performances—works that have become an inseparable part of Lithuanian theatre history—will once again be heard on stage. This is not just a concert; it is a sonic reincarnation of E. Nekrošius’ creative legacy. Live performances by orchestra and actors, specially created video projections, and archival material will invite audiences to relive the atmosphere of the renowned theatre master’s productions.

In Nekrošius’ theatre, music was more than a background—it breathed, created atmosphere, and became an invisible yet essential character. It not only complemented the action but inspired it, shaped the inner worlds of characters, and sometimes even became their voice.

Music from legendary performances:
Hamlet, Othello, Macbeth, Faust, The Seasons, Song of Songs, The Cherry Orchard, Pirosmani, Pirosmani, Zinc (Zn), The Wedding, Ivanov, The Divine Comedy

It was an absolutely sacred mystery… It felt as if he was sitting and watching people gather for his performances...”
– Director Oskaras Koršunovas

It wasn’t an evening of memories, but a frenzy of living creativity… A contemporary mystery inspired by the Maestro’s work.
– Theatre critic Audronis Liuga
