Marian Walter

Biography

Marian Walter was born on September 24, 1981, in Suhl, Germany. He began his ballet training in 1992 at the Berlin State Ballet School and graduated in 2000 as a professional dancer.

From 2000 to 2002, he danced with the Bavarian State Ballet at the Munich National Opera. In 2002, he joined the Berlin State Ballet (Staatsballett Berlin), where he was promoted to demi-soloist in 2003 and to soloist the following year. Since 2010, he has been performing as a principal dancer with the company.

  • 2005 – 3rd Prize, International Ballet Competitions in Helsinki and Nagoya
  • 2007Deutscher Tanzpreis Zukunft (German Dance Prize for the Future)
  • 2010 – Nominated for the Benois de la Danse
  • 2018 – Honored with the title Kammertänzer (Chamber Dancer)
  • 2020 – Kulturen Berlin Prize

Guest Appearances

Marian Walter has performed as a principal guest artist with numerous ballet companies and regularly appears in international ballet gala events around the world.
