Children’s dance performance “How Beautiful Panama Is” on OperaVision platform
Amazing news for our theatre community and audiences: since 11 September 2026 to 11 March 2027, Klaipėda State Music Theatre’s children’s dance performance How Beautiful Panama Is! will be available to watch on the international streaming platform OperaVision.
OperaVision is one of Europe’s leading performing arts streaming platforms, presenting opera and dance productions from some of the continent’s most renowned theatres. The platform is operated by Opera Europa, the association bringing together professional opera companies and opera festival organisers across Europe, of which Klaipėda State Music Theatre is also a member.
Being part of OperaVision opens new opportunities for international collaboration, artistic exchange, and participation in European cultural initiatives. One such initiative is Next Generation, a European Union-funded programme supporting the professional development of emerging opera and dance artists through international cooperation and career-building opportunities. Klaipėda State Music Theatre is proud to participate in this programme with young dancers from its international ballet company and emerging choreographer Daria Verovka.
The OperaVision broadcast is further recognition of the professionalism of the theatre’s ballet company and strengthens the theatre’s international visibility and connections within the European performing arts community.
How Beautiful Panama Is! tells the story of Little Bear, Little Tiger, and Duck on a journey in search of the dreamland of Panama, where they discover the true meaning of friendship, courage, and happiness. Based on Janosch’s beloved book, the ballet combines dance, music, and visual art, while its set design incorporates recycled objects that encourage reflection on environmental responsibility. The production was nominated for a 2026 Golden Stage Cross Award as Best Performance for Children and Youth, and costume designer Sandra Straukaitė received an award for her outstanding work.
